Many of you will know that I'm a grand master at cross threading the air bottle on my S16s. Well I did it some time ago (for the second time) and hadn't bothered to do anything about it as I'm not getting out at the moment.
I'm now thinking that I'll be back in the field in a couple of months, maybe sooner, so I decided to call Logun and see if I could take the gun up there (Wolverhampton) and have it fixed while I waited. After a brief phone call I was told to take it in.
Finding the place wasn't as hard as I'd been told it was, excellent directions from the young lady that answers the service phone number were invaluable. Situated amid a myriad of similar looking industrial units of varying sizes yet all looking very much alike, the presence of the Logun unit can only be determined by an A4 piece of paper stuck to the window of the reception area with the word Logun printed on it.
Having got past the electronic door entry system where I was asked for the purpose of my visit I was greeted by a young guy who was obviously an airgun doctor. Taking my pride and joy he went through another door with a digilock system into what I'm sure was a warehouse and workshop area.
In less than five minutes he returned with my Baby fitted with a new probe and receiver. WE were discussing the attributes of the MkII over the MkI when he said "the mark three is coming out soon, wanna see it?"
Obviously, I thought "why should I be privileged over and above all you other guys? Why should I get to see a new airgun before the rest of you?" then I thought "Sod them, course I want to see it".
Martin came back with the MkIII in his hands and with him came Simon who is Logun's Technical & Quality Manager. While Simon went through the differences of this latest model as opposed to the two previous models, Matt handed me the rifle. It was much lighter than its predecessors and a slight angle on the bottle allows sighting to be made much easier. I dare not go into any other details for fear of upsetting the lads but when Simon explained that the looks of the S16 range were kept yet the new S16 Evo is a completely different gun.
I've always ranted that Logun are a good company and the rifles are excellent and even more so now I've actually met the faces behind the hardware.
Keep an eye out from mid June onwards for the release of the S16 EVO _________________ "Heavy is good, heavy is reliable, if it doesn't work you can always hit him with it". Boris the Blade.....Snatch.

Still waiting for my op Ken. Just decided to come back and start writing again.
Logun are far from bust, they also own Webley! I also saw signs for Simmons there.
Thanks for your well wishes _________________ "Heavy is good, heavy is reliable, if it doesn't work you can always hit him with it". Boris the Blade.....Snatch.

Classic hahaha.
I've always loved them for their looks and innovation, then i felt the weight and it changed my mind. If there's a s16 that's been on a diet i'll seriously reconsider swapping my thai bride that's coming in the mail in two months for a new s16.
PS, i'm not really getting a thai bride............ for four months. Ha.
I'd love to see some vids of the s16 dodge, i feel they're not getting the praise they deserve.

It's a great looking gun for sure. I've used one and the weight was similar to the HW I was using at the time so It didn't bother me. Very accurate and makes you feel like your in the SAS!
Can't wait to see the Evo when it's unveiled. _________________ BSA S10 Mk3 .22 - Tasco 3-9x40 IR

I've had a rethink about telling everyone about the gun I saw. If it was that secret then they wouldn't have let me see it.
At first glance the EVO looks like an S16s but on closer inspection it's easy to see that the shroud is slightly shorter and much thinner. Although it's not as obvious the bottle is now no longer in line with the rest of the gun, it has a slight incline in its attitude, this makes sighting somewhat more comfotable. The scope rail now looks like a Weaver jobbie so that scopes can be interchanged and placed back on the rail at the exact same spot as they were when they were zeroed in. The gun I looked at also had two pieces of this rail on either side of the barrel up at the front of the forestock to accomodate a lamp and a laser. The pistolgrip is compatible with the grip of an M16!!!
To combat the double loading problem that some people have they have now made the bolt easier to use by way of a more convetional lift up and slide back bolt action.
The whole thing is lighter and feels easier to handle. I was told that internally it's a different gun completely with all the internals being made of steel. Trigger and safety remain the same as does the rubber butt cover.
Thats about all I could fathom in the short time I was there.
Once again I have to say that the guys were very friendly and seemed to crave feedback.
The EVO is going to take the gun world by storm as long as shooters physically take a look at it as the asthetics look much the same. I'll be having a much longer and closer look at one as soon as I can.
Thought I'd add a few pics of my Baby _________________ "Heavy is good, heavy is reliable, if it doesn't work you can always hit him with it". Boris the Blade.....Snatch.

Give me Logun everytime!
My S16s developed a problem last weekend, when I pushed the bolt home it felt very "lumpy" no way as smooth as it was. Then last evening as I was doing a little plinking it started to misshape pellets and jam them in the breech.
Finally, each time I loaded a pellet jammed up the breech. I must have stripped the gun ten times to clear the blockage.
I decided to mail Logun and tell them of my dilemma and tell them I'd call this morning. I called and spoke to Martin his answer? "Get it over here asap and we'll fix it for you"
What better service can anyone ask for? _________________ "Heavy is good, heavy is reliable, if it doesn't work you can always hit him with it". Boris the Blade.....Snatch.

You don't need a degree to work out that the last post was from Simon at Logun.
Well they did it. My S16s is as sweet as the first day I got it thanks to Martin and Simon.
Thanks again both of you
